Q: Is this a hotel or a privately owned condo?
A: Both, each of the condos are privately owned, however a management company called “Aqua” operates the front desk as a hotel. Hence the property is referred to as a “Condotel.” Condo owners can elect to use the hotel front desk or book their own condo independently. We currently use “Aqua” to book our condos.
Q: Are all of the condos in the Aqua Marina the same?
A: They are basically the same in layout but owners can furnish them any way they like. There is a wide variation in furnishings so it is difficult to compare. We have extensively renovated our condo in a stylish tropical décor using island teak for the furnishings and cabinets and granite for the bath and countertops. The rental company actually used pictures of our condo to encourage others to renovate!
Q: Why do the rates vary so widely throughout the building?
A: As we mentioned above, there is a wide variation in the furnishings and upgrades in each unit which affects the rental rates. Additionally some of the lower units in the building have no view whatsoever and are far less valuable. As a result, the more valuable units are the upper floor units with gorgeous views. Therefore if the higher floor units have also done a renovation upgrade, they are the ones most in demand and will receive a premium of rental rates.
Q: Why would I want a studio condo instead of a real hotel room?
A: Condos are more personalized as they are privately owned. They are usually slightly larger than a hotel room as they also have a kitchenette which hotels generally do not. Since this is our own condo we put upgraded materials and features not found in hotel rooms. We think that you will enjoy it much more than a hotel room.
Q: Is there a charge to use the tennis courts?
A: No, the tennis courts are free to condo owners and their guests.
Q: Is there a charge for parking?
A: No, we own our own parking spot and it is complimentary to our guests.
Q: Is there a washer and dryer in the building?
A: Yes, there are washers and dryers in the laundry room available at a nominal charge.
